Gospatric / Cospatric

In trying to figure out who Gospatric de Brawby (Anskitel and Walter's father) I decided to plot all references (documents) that include a Gospatric.

This following is a table containing an overview of the data I found, a timeline of this data followed by a second table with conclusions.

NOTES / ASSUMPTIONS / CONCLUSIONS:

  • Number 14 and 18 cannot be the same man as they both appear as witnesses to a charter in 1154 x 1159

  • Number 9, 15 and 25 cannot be the same man as they all appear as witnesses to a charter in 25 Dec 1113 x  27 Apr 1124

  • Number 9, 26 and 27 cannot be the same man as they all appear as witnesses to a charter in 23 April 1124 X 22 August 1138

  • Number 29, 30 and 31 cannot be the same man as they all appear as witnesses to a charter in 1143 x 24 Aug 1147

  • Number 2, 9, 13 and 15 cannot be the same man as they all appear as witnesses to a charter in Autumn 1114 X 27 April 1124

Additional Notes:

> Can Gospatric's 4, 5, 7, 37, 43, 51, 52, 55 & 56 fit into one of the above Gospatric's????

The following is a family tree I put together from existing research (I have not researched to validate this tree).

I have only included the people that lead directly to a Gospatric in this diagram.

The family tree shows how a number of the Gospatric's belong to an extended family. This family is often referred to as the House of Bamburgh and it includes Kings of Scotland.
